The Ego Returns?
So it seems the rumours are true - Robbie is back in the studio with his old muckers Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason. Is it a good thing though? Here are RealMusic Towers, we reckon that Take That’s last album was a tad blee when it comes down to it and that Robbie’s recent Bodies single hasn’t truly set the world alight. So will two verging-on-wrongs make a right? We can only wait and see. Take That are either headed for a euphoric, career-defining high or a car crash-style low. We can’t quite decide which but we’d love to be a fly on the wall as Robbie tries to keep his ego in check right now…
The Veronicas, Koko, London - September 24th
The scene was set in Camden’s sold-out Koko well before the emergence of support act The Federals took to the stage. It was wall to wall girls - some decked out in leather, some in frilly tops but most were waiting patiently for the main event while their boyfriends got the drinks in. The Federals to their credit played their socks off in a power-trio, garage band, no frills kind of way. Job done they left the stage to rapturous applause as one could sense the imminent arrival of the diminutive twin sisters – The Veronicas…
We chatted to Portland quartet Hockey about dancing to YMCA, being big in Europe and how they’ve never played hockey in their lives. They also told us about their surprise dance moves where they gyrate on strangers and how they’ve never been punched.
