(NEW YORK) - "King of the Surf Guitar" Dick Dale will rip it up this summer with Better Shred Than Dead: The Dick Dale Anthology, a new two-CD collection due June 10 from Rhino Records. Compiled and produced with Dale's direct involvement, the anthology traces his career from August 1959-August 1996, featuring 39 tracks from the Del-Tone, Capitol, Cougar, Balboa, KRLA, Columbia, HighTone, and Beggar's Banquet labels. All of Dale's singles are included in the set, as well as live cuts and such rarities as "In-Liner (Surf Beat '97)," "Niterider 6," and a duet of "Pipeline" with guitar-slinger Stevie Ray Vaughan.
